Indias Aditi Ashok will tee off from the tenth tee in the first round of her LPGA qualifying tournament in Rancho Mirage, California on Thursday evening. Aditi, whose 41st-place finish at the Olympics has seen her world ranking improve to 422nd, will be teeing off alongside world number 668 Rachel Raastad of Norway, and amateur Ayaka Nakayama of Japan, at 8:25 pm IST.The field of 347 players for this, the first stage of qualifying, has Aditi as the lone Indian in the fray. The top 60 players (along with players tying for the 60th spot) from this week will then advance to the final stage of qualifying, slated to be hosted by Florida in October.Aditi, who led the Rio leaderboard at one stage in the second round of the first womens golf event at the Olympics in 116 years, has said that she wants to build on her performance in Rio, seeking inspiration from some of her golf heroes that she met during her stay in Rio.Playing in Rio was my goal since 2012, and I made it happen, so I was really excited, Aditi told the LPGA website about her Olympic experience. I had a great experience and I was top 10 after two days. I wish I carried on that form, but it was a great week and Im sure the experience will help me in future tournaments. At the course, I got to spend time with Annika (Sorenstam) and Gary Player. Being a part of the biggest sporting event in the world is just great. The format of the tournament is 72 holes of stroke play competition, with the cut to be decided after the third round concludes on Saturday. All players who will complete 54 holes will receive status to compete on the Symetra Tour -- the LPGAs official development tour -- for 2017. This will not apply, however, to any player who scores 88 or higher before the cut is made, in which case that player will automatically be withdrawn from the qualifying tournament.Aditi had to play her practice rounds with a rented set of clubs as her own equipment took some time to arrive from Rio de Janeiro, but this hasnt deterred the 18-year-old from aiming big in a tournament she failed to play one year back because she didnt meet the minimum age requirement.Ever since I started playing golf, I wanted to play on the LPGA, Aditi was quoted telling the LPGA website. Every step from now on will be one closer to my goal of playing on the LPGA against the best in the world. Cheap Custom Golden Knights Jersey .
