MARTINSVILLE, Va. -- Kyle Busch laughed a little, got philosophical and also took a business-like approach when talking about the news he got this week about a new rule limiting his participation in Xfinity Series and Camping World Truck Series.Busch was not surprised when NASCAR announced Wednesday that drivers with more than five years of full-time Cup experience vying for the Cup title cannot run in more than 10 Xfinity races and seven truck races a season. Theyre also barred from the final eight races of the year (the regular-season finale and Chase events) and the Xfinity Series Dash 4 Cash bonus events. No 2017 Cup driver can run in the season finale in those series.Busch joked Friday at Martinsville Speedway that this is the second rule created by NASCAR for him. After he competed in six truck races at 16 years old, NASCAR created a rule that required drivers to be 18 in all national series (a rule that has since been revised). He also joked that if he had driven more Xfinity races for his own Kyle Busch Motorsports team -- he didnt win driving those cars for a year -- maybe the rule would never have been made.I guess I should be flattered that people are saying that [it is for me], Busch, who has nine Xfinity wins in 16 starts this year, told USA Today and ESPN. I think theres already been a Kyle Busch Rule come out years ago when ... I was 16 and I got booted out. There already was a Kyle Busch Rule. So this is Kyle Busch 2.0. I think it was to eliminate the strongest force of competition, and that was us.Joe Gibbs Racing already had lined up sponsorship with the energy drink brand Nos for more than 10 Xfinity races next year with Busch, who said the team and sponsor will have to decide whether to move races to another driver or if the sponsor will just pay for 10.It is what it is, Busch said. Thats what the rules are. Right now, myself and Joe Gibbs Racing, weve got to go to our partners and re-evaluate where were at and what were going to do.Im 100 percent certain were going to run those 10 races that were allowed to. ... We had a deal in place and now those contracts are null and void and have to change.Busch said he could be at a little disadvantage in the Chase if a less experienced Cup driver gets to run the Xfinity race on a weekend when Busch cannot.A little bit [of a disadvantage], Busch said. Ive always taken it that any track time is a good thing. ... When youre out there doing it, youre feeling it.While designed to help development drivers get more exposure, the rule likely wont help his truck team attract sponsorship, Busch said. He plans to drive in five truck races next year. Stephon Gilmore Womens Jersey . -- Three close looks at the bucket, three misses. Tedy Bruschi Womens Jersey .
