BATON ROUGE, La. -- Maybe TreDavious White will someday return a kick or an interception for a touchdown as a pro at Lambeau Field, enabling him to make the traditional Lambeau Leap into the stands at the Green Bay Packers storied stadium. But if he gets such an opportunity in Saturdays game against Wisconsin (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC), the All-SEC cornerback doesnt want to wait until he reaches the NFL. At least thats what he said earlier this week before Tigers coach Les Miles weighed in on the subject.Im pretty much open to whatever punishment thats going to come my way, said White, who turned down the chance to potentially become an early-round NFL draft pick to return for his senior season at LSU. [The penalty is] going to be bad, but I feel like its just a dream of mine, so I guess Ill try to take it and run with it.However, if White or any other Tiger dares to make the leap after a touchdown -- drawing an excessive-celebration penalty that does not apply to pro players Lambeau Leaps -- he had better be wearing comfortable shoes.I promise you that if anybody jumps [for] the Lambeau Leap, theyll end up with their thumb out to see if they can get a ride home, Miles cracked on Wednesdays SEC coaches teleconference.Miles further explained his stance later that evening, noting that it is unacceptable for players to put the team at a disadvantage by drawing the penalty. They certainly realize the issues there, Miles said. So the idea that certainly should we score, the celebration thereafter, if it involved jumping into the stands, then we would kick off from the 20 -- thats not something that we want to have happen. So unless theres a last-minute ruling that says for this one its OK, then itd be OK.Its a shame such a one-time rule does not exist, enabling players in Lambeaus first major college football game to enjoy one of the pro sports great traditions. After all, this is the only time most of these players will ever compete at one of footballs most historic venues.Theyll be playing there in sunny, mid-70s conditions, not on the frozen tundra NFL Films immortalized in its coverage of the legendary Ice Bowl game against the Dallas Cowboys in 1967.Even if cold weather is Green Bays trademark, most LSU players are happy to miss out on that part of the authentic Lambeau experience. Were still South Louisiana boys, said offensive lineman Will Clapp, a New Orleans native. Sixty degrees and were all breaking out the thermal stuff. This will not be the first time the Tigers have played in an NFL stadium. LSUs most recent game, its bowl victory over Texas Tech, took place at the Houston Texans NRG Stadium. The 2014 Tigers played there, too, and also played a bowl game at the Tennessee Titans LP Field. And in 2013, LSU opened the season at the Cowboys AT&T Stadium and ended the season with a bowl win at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Raymond James Stadium. But those stadiums cant match the history associated with Lambeau, where the Packers will play their 60th season this year.Thats where Aaron Rodgers is at. Brett Favre, LSU running back Leonard Fournette said, referring to two of the Green Bay franchises most famous quarterbacks. Those guys, thats the GOATs.Another Greatest of All Time Packer has an LSU connection.Baton Rouge native and former LSU All-American Jim Taylor is one of 24 Packers who have been enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Taylor was an All-Pro running back in his nine-year Green Bay career, winning four NFL titles and the 1962 Most Valuable Player award. When the Packers add Favre to their Ring of Honor in October, he will join Taylor and the teams 23 other Hall of Famers whose names are listed on the stadiums facade. We want to see the Hall of Fame, we want to see the Jimmy Taylor part and, really, all the greats, certainly, of Green Bay, said Miles, who has never visited Lambeau. Its really, Ive been told, the place where pro footballs really best represented in its infancy and its start, so Im pretty excited about it.Of course Miles would be more excited about leaving Green Bay with a season-opening victory in hand.Playing at Lambeau will be a memorable experience for all involved, but the Tigers cant get too excited about their surroundings and forget about the task at hand. That message seems to have already resonated with the Tigers most notable player. Were coming there for business, to play a game, Fournette said. Its going to be fun to travel and play there, but at the end of the day were coming to get the W, and thats it. Dawson Knox Bills Jersey . Most important, perhaps, it went off without a hitch. Among the communication were a few plays that were sent and then shared with our defensive staff. None of the special plays were run during the course of the game. Our defense regularly prepares for similar formations every week in their normal game plan.Any other information that may have been discussed was nothing that our staff had not already seen while studying Wake Forest in their preparations for the game and the material was not given any further attention. Im disappointed that this issue has brought undue attention to our football staff as we prepare for our upcoming bowl game.Wake Forest launched an investigation into its football program last month, after a sheet featuring its own plays was discovered inside Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium the day before its Nov. 12 game against Louisville. Shortly after the investigation was launched, coach Bobby Petrino said in a statement he had no knowledge of the situation.Petrino also told ESPN on Nov. 17 that he did not have advance information.I can tell you that we didnt (have the plays), Petrino told ESPNs Mike and Mike prior to the Cardinals game against Houston. ... I can assure you that we prepare each week the way that youre supposed to prepare, and I like the fact that our team knows how to do that.On Tuesday, Wake Forest announced that Elrod provided or attempted to provide confidential game preparations to opponents several times, starting in 2014, when Dave Clawson took over as head coach.Elrod had played at Wake Forest from 1993 to 1997 and served as an assistant under Jim Grobe for 11 seasons, but Clawson declined to keep him on staff once he was hired.Elrod then took on duties with the radio broadcast team and had open access to the Wake Forest program. Wake Forest cited emails, text messages and phone records in concluding that Elrod had tried to give out the confidential information. He has since been fired from the IMG Radio Network and banned from Wake Forest athletics and its facilities.Grobe said Wednesday that for 13 years, his practices were open and held in the middle of campus for anyone to see. Clawson continued that policy as well, allowing Elrod complete access to the program not only as the radio broadcaster but as a football alum. For 13 years we had no indoor facility, no privacy, Grobe said. Anybody could come and watch us just practice. So we had no secrets for 13 years and now all of a sudden thats a big deal. We never had the ability to keep people out of our practices, so anybody who wantedd to come and watch and share what we did at practice could do that and we had no ability to stop it for 13 years.dddddddddddd Now all of a sudden its a big issue. I dont get it.The issue from Wakes perspective is Xs and Os plays were given out, and they were specific enough that a casual observer wouldnt be able to diagram on their own. In the case of the Louisville game, the reason red flags were raised is because the information that was discovered showed plays specifically drawn up for the matchup against the Cardinals -- plays that Wake Forest had never run before under Clawson.James Quander, who represents Elrod, said he was not ready to comment on the matter. In the aftermath, the Wake Forest community has reacted with a sense of shock and disbelief.Said one former player: I feel betrayed and it hurts to know every practice, game, scrimmage my teammates and I worked hard for was spoiled by a man we trusted our program to.The ACC said it is in the process of obtaining Wake Forests internal findings.Protecting competitive integrity is fundamental to the Atlantic Coast Conference. ... Utah State, an opponent of the Deacons in 2014, also said it hasnt been contacted.Louisiana-Monroe said former head coach Todd Berry and his staff were not contacted by Elrod. The two teams played in 2014, when Berry was still head coach.Nonconference Army said Wake Forest has contacted the academy as part of its internal investigation.Grobe, who spent this season coaching Baylor on an interim basis, knows Elrod well and said he talked to him Wednesday to keep his head up and love him.Its beyond incomprehensible to me, said Grobe, who had Elrod on his staff for about a decade. If Tommy made any mistakes, I know he didnt do it maliciously.Grobe was asked whether he thought Elrod was capable of this when Elrod was on his staff at Wake. Not at all. Tommys a coach, Grobe said. When you talk to other coaches, you tend to talk football. My guess -- and this is just a total guess on my part -- but sometimes as a coach, you talk coach stuff and you may say too much. We talk football.I dont know if thats the case, but I just know theres no maliciousness in Tommy Elrod. I was just shocked when I heard this. He certainly wouldnt want to hurt Wake Forest.ESPN Staff Writer Heather Dinich contributed to this report. ' ' '
